Services for Adults and Senoirs
A multitude of community groups, woman’s centers, businesses, schools and municipalities offer their clientele or employees our People Safety workshops for adults and/or seniors. Consult the Organize a workshop section to learn more about setting-up a successful group activity. Workshops can be held in the daytime, in the evenings or on weekends.
Three seasons a year, we also offer a wide variety of public workshops; please consult our Public Workshop Schedule for more details on dates and areas where the below-mentioned workshops are offered. Other services also offered to families (kids, teens, parents) and professionals.
OUR FOCUS
Our FULLPOWER (adults) and SENIOR POWER Workshops are a very hands-on and dynamic way to develop a repertoire of safety skills all the while learning them in a safe, supportive, success-based and empowering environment.
These workshops aim to transmit the underlying principles, safety strategies and skills needed to prevent numerous situations of violence; both with strangers and with people we know, in everyday interactions as well as in emergency situations.
Adults and seniors appreciate our short term workshop formats where tangible information and hands-on practice are central in our teaching methodology. They also appreciate our approach because it combines warmth, humour, and empowerment, along with emotional and physical safety.
In SENIOR POWER Workshops, all contents and practices are tailored to fit the needs, life situations and abilities of each individual and group. Whether participants are still very active, have physical limitations or frailties, we focus on what they CAN do rather than what they can’t do and support them in using their strengths to help them stay safe. Consult our Special Needs section to learn more about how we tailor workshops to individual abilities.
